10 Best Xbox Games of 2014 That Nobody Can Forget

2014 was a bizarre year. It was a year of HD premasters and “Conclusive Editions” on Xbox One, or more heaps of cross-gen games discharged on both Xbox 360 and Xbox 1. Few games genuinely emerged – especially on 360 – so making our yearly Game of the Year list in the not so distant future was troublesome. So here is the list of 10 best Xbox games of 2014 that no buddy can forget.

Problems Only 90s Gamers Could Understand

With the PS1 turned 20 last December it’s got us thinking about gaming in the 90s. We complain a lot these days, but there were a lot of problems with gaming back then that we all seemed to ignore. If you were a gamer in the 90s you’d know all about these particular problems…

Project CARS: Free Lykan Hypersport Car To Reward Fans Patience

New trailer made by Slightly Mad Studios has just seen the light of day. The trailer features the new car that owners of Project CARS will acquire for being patient during delays.

The Lykan Hypersport is just the first in the line of cars in Project CARS that will be available for free each month. Project CARS Creative Director, Andy Tudor, commented “we are immensely pleased to have this awesome machine in the game and to give fans the chance to get behind the wheel of a truly amazing vehicle. The Lykan Hypersport represents the first of a series of free cars we’ll be giving away every month as a thank you to our fans for being so patient for the launch of the game. We’ll have more info on the full schedule of further content for Project CARS soon but we hope that this is a great sneak peek of just one way in which Project CARS is going to expand in the future.”

This time the featured car is none other than Lykan Hypersport designed and made by W Motors. The possibility of adding the likes of diamonds, emeralds and sapphires to this car makes it one of the most luxurious rides to be produced ever. It will be Middle-East’s first ever manufactured supercar and the star of the new Furious 7 movie.

Being able to create massive 740 Bhp and go from 0 to 62mph (100 kmph) in 2.8 seconds and than still accelerate to 245 mph (394 kmph) makes this vehicle a true masterpiece of engineering. Project CARS will be coming to the Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC in the middle of May in Europe and US, and some time in 2015 (presumably) for the Wii U. Project CARS Vs Real Life Comparison: Renault Megane RS At Nordschleife

The newest back-to-back comparison of reality with the Project CARS footage is truly breathtaking.
The quality of work done on Project CARS is so high that from the bumper view it is almost impossible to distinguish what is the in-game video and what is filmed in reality.

A Renault Megane RS is represented in the video speeding down the NurburgringNordschleife. The two implemented views: the bumper view and the view from the inside of the car keep alternating, making this video stand out from the crowd of videos of other games currently available on the internet.

What is your personal opinion of the video? Did you have trouble discerning reality from the game? YouTube channel DigiProst is responsible for bringing us this footage. Project CARS will be coming to the Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC in the middle of May in Europe and US, and some time in 2015 (presumably) for the Wii U. 3 of the most anticipated PS exclusives of 2015

Without a doubt, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End was one of the most anticipated games of 2015 and definitely the most anticipated PlayStation exclusive of the year. Originally scheduled to be released in December 2015, it was pushed back by Naughty Dog in order to “to allow for additional development time” and this was received with a little disappointment by the series’ fans, including us, as were really looking forward to see what Nathan Drake was up to. However, given Naughty Dog’s record, we’re pretty sure they’re doing this for the best reasons and when the game will be available next spring it will be awesome.

But that doesn’t mean we aren’t wondering how we can make the wait for Uncharted 4 a little easier. So let’s a look at some of the most promising PlayStation exclusives that are scheduled to be released this year:

Dragon Quest Heroes

With the most recent two installments only available for PC, Wii, Android or Nintendo DS, Dragon Quest Heroes is the first title to be available for PS since Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King. The game was developed by Omega Force, known for their Dynasty Warrior franchise and the result is not a traditional RPG, but more of an action-RPG, where players and their party members can attack large number of enemies at once.

The game was already released in Japan on February 26, for both PS3 and PS4, and it sold more than 500,000 units in the first week. Its developers are currently working on getting it ready for the North American and European markets, with these releases scheduled for later this year.

Persona 5

The fifth installment in the Shin MegamiTensei: Persona series, Persona 5 is the first one to be available in high-definition. According to Atlus, the game’s creators, and from what we’ve seen so far in the trailers and demos, the game will feature the same social and role-playing elements we loved in Persona 3 and Persona 4. Also, these two previous installments each offered at least 60 hours of gameplay, so we’re expecting a wonderful and long experience from Persona 5 too.

When it was first introduced, Persona 5 was announced only for PS3, but in the meantime it was also confirmed for PS4, with its Japanese and North American release scheduled for later this year.

Those of us that played Demon’s Souls or any of the Dark Souls titles know what Japanese developer From Software is capable of and that’s why we’re really looking forward to getting our hands on Bloodborne, their latest creation which will be released exclusively for the PS4 on March 24. Judging by what we saw and know so far, the game will have most of the features we loved in the Souls games, while the combat will get faster and more fluid. Add the new randomly generated dungeon feature that further extends the game and we have one of the most anticipated PlayStation games of the year.

These are the games that got us excited the most, but PS players have plenty of options to choose from this year, with several other interesting titles scheduled to be released in 2015: Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance, The Tomorrow Children, ToukidenKiwami or Final Fantasy X/X-2 Remaster.

Honorable mention: Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance and The Tomorrow Children

Project CARS: Check Out The Incredibly Distracting Dubai Skyline

Project CARS is amazing on so many levels, but the most ingenious feature is its level of details along the track.

When it comes to Dubai Autodrome it gets even better – the skyline of Dubai is so faithfully reproduced by Slightly Mad Studios like nothing you’ve seen before.

I’m sure they did this on purpose – to distract you off the race itself! It is simply impossible to focus on the game when all that beauty is before you and I stopped counting how many times I’ve crashed because I wasn’t paying attention to the game and missed my breaking point!

What’s you opinion of the Dubai skyline; were you able to stay focused on the race?

You can find the footage on Yorkie065 YouTube channel and enjoy. Project CARS will be available for the Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC on 2nd April in Europe and USA, and later this year for the Wii U. For more on Project CARS check out the official site.

Project CARS for PS4 Releases a Video Preview

A preview of project CARS has appeared on thexboxachievements and playstationtrophies which guides through some of its basic features.

The video was taken from the version ported for PS4 console and is regarded by the community as “a proper sim”. The increase in aggressiveness of the AI has been reported and with the addition of the uneven tracks it is not that hard to find yourself kissing the wall.

While the footage does lack the finishing touches it is important to note that this is far from a completed game to the point where it is not even known what build it currently is on. What are your first impressions of the new video, will it be a new revolution in driving sim, or just another quickly forgotten fad?

PS4, Xbox One and PC versions of Project CARS is scheduled for release in Europe and America on April 2 and the date for Wii U is still unspecified. For more on Project CARS check out the official site.
