The latest iPhones 6s and 6s Plus are said to be almost identical regarding their specifications. Namely, the difference pertains to the camera, screen resolution and size; while the hardware is the same – an A9 chipset and 2GB RAM.This poor optimization has, however, led to frame drop issues with the iPhone 6s Plus.
In her recent video, Erica Griffin shows much smother performance of the smaller iPhone 6s regarding the animations, than the iPhone 6s Plus, where some lagging is apparent, as well as some frame drops. Still, have in mind that the difference is apparent and actually noticeable only when comparing the two side by side.
I’m sure many of you will agree that this really isn’t something to worry about; but I guess knowing that the iPhone 6s comes a bit cheaper than its larger variant, some consumers may find this ‘poor’ performance quite annoying.
Although it’s not really clear what exactly is the cause of this behavior of the iPhone 6s Plus, there may yet be a fix for it, according to Griffin. All you should do is select Reduce Transparency setting on your phone and it should fix the issue. So, go to Settings, general, Accessibility, Increase Contrast. Bear in mind that the fix isn’t guaranteed to work, but hey – it’s worth a shot, right?! In the meantime do check out the video below to see what we’re talking about.
