How a Romanian Monument Became a Charming Bookstore

Bucharest’s Old Town has become one of the most popular places.

The bookstore is already fully equipped with numerous books. However, this is not just an ordinary bookstore – it is THE place where all art buffs are gathering to enjoy various artistic activities, apart from browsing through books. The store itself in in six elegant levels/floors offering its visitors over 10,000 books and more than 5,000 albums and DVDs. There’s also a bistro for all the bohemian souls at the last floor, and the basement is reserved for fans of contemporary arts.

The bookstore provides an amazing mix of classic inter-war atmosphere with the minimalistic contemporary architecture. It is designed to join old and new in a charming way in an effort to appeal to the young, as well as to those a bit more experienced ones. That alone should do the trick. The picture can be easily imagined – all the book-lovers gathered together, sipping coffee and discussing love and arts; soft music in the background adding to the atmosphere.

The Carusel is actually a part of the chain, but it is also so much more than that – it is a place guaranteed to become the cultish place for many of its customers.
